i definitely voted for Simon, but after his recent boat party in New York and other DJ sets i’ve seen him do, he’s defiantely a good dj, but he really should be recognized mostly as a producer.

all of the top DJ’s on the top 100 list are voted because of their dj skills.  their skills to get the clubs going, breaking new songs, mixing abilities, putting together a journey of sorts.  all of my experience with Simon’s dj sets are mostly just play Twisted releases.  i’m not gonna lie, i enjoy his dj sets cause i love listening to him play his music (and real loud) but as DJ sets, i dont think they can compare to all the dj’s in the top 10. 

i still think Simon is the best Electronic producer ever, he is one of a kind, a god when it comes to making music.

i see what you are getting at about the producer/dj thing.

so i cannot comment on the dj thing, but i know this much, the music that dude makes is fucking awesome and gets me high, and hey, that gets a vote for something good from me.

I highly agree with Slice One… as a DJ simon relatively only plays twisted releases… as a DJ myself, I take pride in offering a completely unique and different experience to the audience everytime, with entirely new sonic exploration journey everytime…

I would love to see simon do a set without any twisted releases whatsoever…

I agree with your words, mate.  I feel like praising Simon for his DJing skills is like praising Beethoven for his violin virtuosity.  I would liken Simon more to someone like Klaus Schulze than Tiesto.  No, he isn’t making millions doing his thing.  However, I think people in 20 years will still listen and study Simon’s music just as people today study Klaus and Tangerine Dream. 

And I’ll save my rant against stadium DJs. 

Imagine: Ministry of Sound Vol. 74 mixed by Simon Posford. The cover image would NEED to be half of his face; that’s apparently the rule for DJ mixes. 

I wondered how they counted votes for Simon because I wasn’t sure to put Hallucinogen, or Simon Pos, or Shpongle or YB. Unless they counted him for each or recognized the differemces and stuff.
