Let’s see some band names dropped.  I’ve always been wanting to expand my knowledge of psychedelic rock groups.  My favorites include:

Jefferson Airplane
Moody Blues
Pink Floyd
The Beatles
The Doors
13th Floor Elevators
Blue Cheer
Iron Butterfly

A bit more ambient but the masters of electronic from the 70’s have to be Tangerine Dream with loads of albums to choose from.. :D

Hawkwind is AWESOME!Im going to go out on a limb and say that you two are fans of Can as well?

I was born in 1967,and I lived on Haight st from 1968-70.My dad was roadie for Quicksilver Messenger Service. So I grew up around that scene, all though I dont remember it of course, but I have heard all the stories that go along with it.

I HIGHLY recommend the band ‘Its a beautiful day’

Some other classic 60’s bands
Pacific Gas and Electric co.
The Seeds
Love
Blue Cheer

Here is a pretty good site for more 60’s bands info
