Re: Live show or live album?

[quote author=“brand”]Call me a pessimist…

Does anyone actually have evidence that this flyer is advertising a live show and not a live album or DVD titled “live in concert”?  Call me crazy, but I think I remember a camera man being at the hallucinogen show I was at last year.

I’m asking because it now takes a while to get a passport in the US, and I’ll need to get that done if I’m traveling to see Shpongle live Live.  :shock:

Other than the flyer above, anyone have any more info like a venue or line up?

Thanks,

Matt

read the front page of the website all the current info is there about Shpongle live 2007.

I must be blind, but I still don’t see it anywhere.

Which section (Latest News, Current Articles, or Twisted Blog) are you speaking of?

Are you talking about a boxset?

Looks like we’re in for a treat !!! Seems to be a bit of confusion over the actual date of the event, but it’s a while off yet.

Definitely looks great!

I’m guessing April 27th is the official date (according to the flyers and this post , stateing “Keep your ears peeled for Shpongle Live in Concert on April 27th 2007.”

The promoters better know that this is pretty huge, and either they plan a world tour, or expect the world to show up at the venue.  If there’s no world tour, I’m traveling from NY to the UK.  The sooner us Yanks know the better.

Can anybody hear me?  :wink:

Thanks,

Matt

I figure if I start swimming now I can be rescued and out of the hospital by late April.  :wink:

Seriously though, any info about this would be greatly appreciated.

Shpongle Live

Last I heard is that the show’s been delayed to a tentative end of May date.  Here’s a post about it from Simon’s MySpace page:
+++++++++++++++
As some of you have heard we are planning to do a Shpongle live show in London, U.K… we initially had a date for April, but since we lost our first choice of venue, this has tentatively been moved to may 27th.
All the musicians are confirmed except for raja ram, who is dragging his heels a bit. The main problem, and i sympathise, is that the venue is ‘brixton academy’... raj doesn’t like this venue, and i also feel that the sound is bad - and my main priority is to have great sound! So at the moment nothing is confirmed… we are still trying to get the best venue, and convince raj to play.

one thought is the Royal Festival Hall… how would people feel about a “sit-down” gig? (there are seats at the venue). the venue is also smaller so we would possibly do 2 nights… i kind of like the idea of a sit-down show, because we could play some of the spacier and mellow stuff, without feeling the pressure of having to make people dance.

if any of you have thoughts about this, or ideas for venues, please post them here smile
++++++++++++++++++++++++
I know that there’s a thread going around about why Shpongle doesn’t generally play their spacier and more ambient tracks ... maybe this is your chance to hear them!

NO NO NO the Royal Festival Hall is a BAD IDEA. It is a great venue for sound but is not suited to a psychadelic gathering. It would be NO SMOKING for one thing…......Seats are also not good as they stop proper dancing or walking about.How about Alexandra Palace.Saw Infected Mushroom there,LOADS OF SPACE!!!

I would really love a sit-down gig. I prefer the less-danceable Shpongle stuff. What would be perfect is to have seats like in a planetarium, so you could lie back and enjoy the visuals on the ceiling or something. A totally relaxed trip experience.
