I have made about 20+ records just using the following gear:
two broken tb 303’s ..
Juno 106
Tr 606/Tr 808..
Various, horrible, primitive sequencers ..(Squids as I call them ..Old Korgs).
and a Akai S950.

I do find the less you have, the better off you are, and more records can be made..
I see more and more artists buying and collecting gear- but they have no records/music to show from it and half the time is wasted just setting up the stuff..

I have many friends that have every piece of gear you can imagine and no music was made (or at least completed). Meanwhile me and a friend cut 4 records just using a Juno 106 and a S950..

I think it comes down to knowing your gear inside and out, and then taking the time to record music…

but whatever..gear is gear and if it makes you happy go with it!

gear

I used to use an Ensoniq ASR-10 sampler for everything…it was so time consuming, but was definately good practice at manipulating sound!
Now I use Reason 3
check out some tracks
