[quote author=“skwelch”]I have another one of Ott’s early trance releases, on a very old TIP compilation cd, I think the cd is just called the pink one?? cold be wrong though. I’ll dig out the cd and let you know the track name.

No offence Ott, but you have improved beyond recognition since those days smile

That’s the one called “Trigger Hippy” as I recall.

It was recorded in 1995 in one take, with Andy at the controls of my Roland MC-202,  me squiggling the filter on my TB-303 and all the rhythm stuff coming out of the S1000.

I thought it was shit at the time but Andy convinced me it was a work of high art so after a couple of phone calls we traipsed off to Ladbroke Grove for a meeting with Raja Ram at TIP records.

It was the first time I ever met Raj. He looked like a busy label boss, striding round the office chattering away on three phones at once. Suddenly he put all his phones down and turned to us, smiled and said “Ok guys - gimme the DAT - I don’t have much time.”

So we gave him the DAT and he put it on really loud.

He listened intently throught the whole tune, staring at the floor and nodding his head in time with the music and when it finished he said “That’s great lads. Five hundred?”

We looked at each other and then back at him and nodded in total amazement as he produced his chequebook and wrote us out a cheque for

No worries, that was an amusing story.
The lifes of Twisted Record could’ve been a TV Show smile

Haha that one made me lol. I can picture it in my head. That’s so Raja

(btw I re-sent now)

[quote author=“sirdropsalot”]Anyone know anything about hikimori?

discogs says its otts “secret alias” but I wasnt aware that he had an alias that did uptempo stuff… I mean i no he does dabble with it occasionally but didnt realise he released anything. Is black ops the only track he’s done? any plans for the future with this alias? what other uptempo tracks by ott should i look out for? (thats the only one i’ve heard…)

cheers :D

I havent checked back to this thread for a while now (I was distracted by my diversification into other areas of music such as the discovery of such wonders as Trentemollers “last resort”, amongst others) but since we’re getting close to the release of what i think is twisted’s most eagerly anticipated album this year, i thought I’d have a look.
Gotta say - the confirmation of the Naked Nick collaboration has me soiling myself at regular intervals. Alongside the Umberloid release, i reckon it will be a fantastic opportunity to see just how diverse Ott’s stuff can be. The differences between his solo stuff and the In Dub album are subtle, but very interesting indeed. I hope this will be the case with these two aswell. Naked Nick is fantastic too, and I thoroughly recommend listening to his mix on the Id Spiral website, and of course the tasters of this collaboration on Nick’s myspace. As for Skylon, it looks like he’s picked up just where he left off in Blumenkraft, as i was hoping. Judging by the new tracks he’s played at this summers festivals and the twisted party, it goes without saying that it is going to be nothing short of pure genius.

good on ya mate, cant WAIT!  :D

On the way home we stopped off at a squat we used to live in to buy some coke off a friend who still lived there, and then spent an hour in heavy traffic in North london driving back to Andy’s flat in my brown Zastava Yugo, stopping every ten minutes to snort a line of coke off the dashboard and roll another joint.

We ended up spending the entire
