What software or/and hardware do you use when composing music?
I thought it would be interesting to see if there’s any particular software or synth that people uses…I’ll go first:

Laptop, DELL with a firewire soundcard (M-Audio)
Reason 3.0
Wavelab 5

Some midisynth that i don’t know the name of.

Re: What tools do you use?

[quote author=“Leonard_Hummer”]What software or/and hardware do you use when composing music?

Well, my friend and I rent an office space, which is where we keep our gear/compose most of our tunes.

My friend has:

MacBook Pro. 2.16ghz Intel Core Duo processor, 2 gig RAM, LogicPro 7.2.

I have:

MacBook.  2ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2 gig RAM, LogicPro 7.2.

The studio/office has (in no particular order):

Beer
Mackie 1402-something
Floor Lamp
Clavia Nord Lead 2
Two cans of Sprite Zero
Electric Guitar (no idea what brand, seeing that it belongs to my friend)
One small dresser (chest of drawers)
Alesis QS8
Alesis QuadraVerb (currently not working, will eventually get it fixed)
Desk Lamp
Two guitar Amps
Korg MicroKorg
Two Ergonomic office chairs
Novation X-Station 25
1/4 gallon of Crystal Geyser drinking water (update: water toss in the trash because it has been sitting around for about six months)
Yamaha MU100R
Two different types of mics (can’t recall the names)
LaCie d2 Hard Drive (Hi-Speed USB 2.0, FireWire 400, FireWire 800)
Two desks
M-Audio MidiSport 8/8s
Half eaten bag of Lindt Truffles
Event monitor speakers
Sony DAT (current not working, will probably buy another DAT or ADAT)
More midi/audio cables than we know what to do with
Arm-chair
About four bottles of Snapple Iced Teas
Yamaha mLan i88X
Somesort of four-channel Sony Mini-Disk recorder.
Two issues of the Economist from September
Korg Kaoss Pad
Sewing Machine (don’t ask why)
Some sort of “floor-pedal” effects processor (can’t recall the name)
Ironing board ( oh please don’t ask why)
Sofa
Yamaha DX-100
Clothing pattern books (once again, don’t ask why)
Alesis NanoCompressor

What we still need: A small refrigerator, TV, and a DVD player.

Okay, here’s a cell-phone video of our studio.

Yes, the resolution really sucks and I suspect I may make a “take two” for this vid.  But, none-the-less, enjoy.
